Health and Safety at Work

Occupational Health and Safety (K3)

Occupational health and safety is philosophically defined as a thought and effort to ensure the integrity and completeness of both the physical and mental well-being of workers, in particular, and humans in general, along with their creations and culture, towards a prosperous and thriving society. From a scientific perspective, it is a body of knowledge and its application in efforts to prevent potential accidents and occupational diseases.

K3 aims to create a safe, healthy, and pollution-free workplace by maintaining and protecting the health, safety, and security of workers. This helps prevent or reduce workplace accidents and occupational illnesses, ultimately enhancing work efficiency and productivity.

Several regulations related to K3 are governed by the Laws of the Republic of Indonesia, Ministerial Regulations from the Ministry of Manpower, and Ministerial Regulations from the Ministry of Health.

Environment

In line with the rapid growth of the industrial sector in Indonesia, Government Regulations have been issued, including requirements for newly established industrial companies to be located in industrial estates. This has led to a high demand for industrial land to meet market needs, as well as the necessity for a sustainable industrial estate environmental management policy system.

An Environmental Impact Analysis (AMDAL) recommendation is mandatory for investment activities (Foreign Direct Investment and Domestic Investment) that have the potential to negatively impact the environment. The AMDAL recommendation is issued by the local government through designated local government agencies or through a one-stop integrated licensing service at the regional level. For smaller-scale investment activities, the environmental permit is in the form of an Environmental Management and Monitoring Effort (UKL/UPL) recommendation.

Regulations related to environmental management in Industrial Estates refer to Ministerial Regulations from the Ministry of Industry and the Ministry of Environment and Forestry.
