BATU BARA, (03/11/2025) – Commission IV of the Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) of Batu Bara Regency conducted an inspection and document review related to the PT Prima Pengembangan Kawasan (PPK) project in Kuala Tanjung, Sei Suka District, Batu Bara Regency.
The visit was led by the Chairman of Commission IV of Batu Bara DPRD, Sarianto Damanik, accompanied by Suriadi, and attended by representatives from the Licensing Office, the Housing & Environment Office (Perkim & LH), and the Public Works and Spatial Planning Office (PUTR) of Batu Bara Regency.
The delegation was welcomed by the Director of PT Prima Pengembangan Kawasan, Sutanto, along with the SVP of Technical and Commercial of PT PPK, Budi Setiadi.
Sarianto Damanik, Chairman of Commission IV, explained that the inspection was a follow-up to a report from an organization highlighting alleged incomplete project documentation carried out by PT STM through PT PPK in the Kuala Tanjung Industrial Estate. This issue had also been discussed in last month’s Public Hearing (RDP).
“We came to follow up on the RDP results and to ensure that the documents promised were complete. After being presented by PT PPK and upon our review, the documents were indeed complete,” said Sarianto.
He added that this project, which is part of the National Strategic Projects (PSN), brings positive impacts to Batu Bara Regency, both in terms of increasing Regional Own-Source Revenue (PAD) and providing new job opportunities.
“This visit is solely to directly verify the promised documents so that negative rumors circulating in the community can be addressed. We hope PT PPK continues to build collaboration with stakeholders, community leaders, and local residents,” he added.
Meanwhile, Commission IV member Suriadi emphasized that the visit was part of the DPRD’s oversight duties.
“We are here to follow up on reports from the community and ensure that all project documents from PPK in the Kuala Tanjung Industrial Estate are truly complete and compliant with procedures,” he said.
PPK’s Commitment to Compliance & Transparency
PT PPK President Director, Sutanto, expressed his appreciation for the visit by the Batu Bara DPRD. He affirmed that the company remains open to inspections and oversight to ensure the project proceeds according to regulations.
“We highly appreciate the visit and attention from the Batu Bara DPRD. For us, oversight is an important aspect to ensure the project is carried out responsibly and in line with regulations,” said Sutanto.
He stated that the construction progress has currently reached approximately 80 percent and is being carried out according to applicable standards.
“As a subsidiary company, PT PPK is fully committed to implementing ESG principles in every construction process. All licensing documents—such as the Environmental Impact Assessment (Amdal), Building Approval (PBG), and other technical documents—have been completed and approved by the relevant authorities. We ensure that all work complies with safety, environmental, and good governance standards,” he added.
Sutanto also emphasized the company’s ongoing efforts to maintain synergy with the local government, community, and other stakeholders.
“We hope this support continues, so the development can bring benefits to the people of Batu Bara, particularly in the growth of the industrial area and future economic opportunities,” he concluded.
